I’M NEW

New Here?

We want to welcome you to our website.  Grace Community is a church committed to helping all people find restoration and becoming engaged in the healing of our city and beyond. We are a people centered on the grace of Jesus Christ as we worship and serve within God’s Mission.

You can read more about us on this website, join us on the live stream, come see us at the Ellerbe Road Campus for worship or join us in service at Common Ground.  We look forward to meeting you soon.

The People of Grace Community

Worship Experience

While we enjoy a great deal of variety in our time of worship, there are a few things that can be expected every weekend. There is hot coffee and cold water in the Gathering Area and we invite you to pour a cup or grab a bottle and bring it into worship. There are classes for elementary students during every service, and classes for middle and high school students during the 9:30am service Sunday. There are members of the welcome team stationed around the gathering and worship areas to provide assistance as needed. No one will call you out in the middle of service or try to pin a big “I’m new here” bow on you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time are the Services

We have services Saturday evening at 5:30 and Sunday morning at 9:30 and 11. The pre-service music and live streaming start five minutes before service.

Where do I take my children?

Well, that is entirely up to you. We have a staffed nursery that you are welcome to use or you can keep your little ones with you in service. On Sunday mornings there is Grace Place for pre-k-kindergarteners downstairs and The Crossing for 5th and 6th graders upstairs. Grace Land is for 1st through 4th graders and is a part of every service; this group actually starts out in service and then leave together after a time of shared worship. There are volunteers seated down in the front center section that the children can sit with until they leave or they can stay with their parents until the time to go upstairs. (The welcome team members can direct you.) Again, we have a multigenerational worship mindset. We love having our children worship with us and want you to feel comfortable to have them participate in the children’s ministries or to stay in worhsip with you.

How do I find a Welcome Team member?

They will be the smiling people wearing lanyards/name tags milling around the gathering area and at the doors of the worship area.

What should I wear?

It might be easier to answer what shouldn’t you wear! Wear what you have. Wear what you are comfortable in. Wear what you want. We are a diverse group and we believe that the people in the clothing are what matters, period.

What is available for teenagers?

Sunday mornings the youth meet in the Warehouse for breakfast at 9:00 then share worship and classes. Many of the youth then join the 11 o’clock service in the main worship area. If you would like more information about activities during the week you can find that on our Youth page.

What about adult classes?

We have many classes and small groups that meet throughout the week and on Sunday mornings. Some of these are short term commitments and others are groups that have been together for years. If you would like to try out a small group or find out more about what is available, you can check out our small group page or contact Pete Bollinger @ pete@gracehappens.org or 318.865.2070.
